The Future Of Android Is Bright
Los Angeles Times has reported that the Android operating system
, developed by Google, was consolidated as the dominant operating system in the smartphone category, found in about 50% of all smart devices in the first half of 2012. The figures refer to a study by the consulting firm Canalys in 56 countries during the second quarter in which it was found that Android is the leading in 35 of those territories.
Android became the dominant operating system in high-end phones worldwide in late 2010 when it overtook Nokia's Symbian, a software company in extinction. Finnish technology was replaced by Windows Phone from Microsoft this year. Apple with its iOS, the system that runs the iPhone, is the second most popular platform, with 19% market share, while the company Steve Jobs is the world's largest maker of smartphones.
The momentum of Android seems to start. It is expected that by 2016, 72% of the world's mobile phone will be running on Android, Android that time should have a special market position. However, not everything is rosy for the platform. The various versions which make cumbersome application design interoperable between different OS versions are having difficulty in homogenisation.
In turn, the absence of a profitable business model for the developer reduces the thrust of making creative software for the platform. They appeal to design applications that result in tangible benefits in the shortest time possible.
In Latin America this actually expands. In the region Android must overcome RIM, which continues to hold the lead with their BlackBerry, and demonstrate that their value proposition is better than that exhibited by Apple, which to a crawl, begins to be felt.
In the region, Google will fight to improve the future of Android. The first element to consider is what to do with the first wave of teams that came to the region with version 1.6 of the operating system, which certainly did not have the impact that its main promoters: Motorola and Samsung wanted to generate.
In Venezuela, in particular, it will have a strategy of cramming. The operators and distribution channels are expected to place more than 3million Android Smartphone by the end of the year, having the platform of 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 operating system. A reality that Venezuela must overcome the impact of the BlackBerry which remains absolute leaders in the category with more than 2.1 million units with RIM data plans.
These three versions generate incompatibility issues. So the design is performed is common to all. Without doubt, a market incentive to local developers, who seek an alternative business Android to give them access to a growing global market.
