The book is a 'documentary'. It is not a potboiler. 'The Game' is the story of how the community of 'pick up artists' started and grew into a huge following of men globally. In just a few years I saw the pick-up artist community expand from a small group of just five London blokes to hundreds of guys...
The author, Neil Strauss, known as Style in the pick-up artist community, did slightly modify some of the characters and other facts - but this was just to make it an easier read. The major change he implemented from the actual happenings was turning some people into one person to prevent having to constantly introduce new people.
Secondly, it is undeviatingly 100% tangible. Therefore it is so puissant. The events in the writing appear so amazing. But they exist.
And that brings me to the next interesting thing about this book. It has commenced an enlarged cultural change amongst men all over the world. All over the world a substantial number of guys have begun gaining mastery as pick-up artists. And if you are speculating on just how enormous it got? Let me tell you... It has been absolutely unnerving for old-hand pick up artists like us.
I recognize the way in which people practicing pick-up artistry behave. Periodically I can recognize them in a crowded room. You can immediately apprise the situation by listening to the way they talk and what they say. I can share with you, that presently, no matter the city, the vicinity, the genre of people there. However, because it remains broad, you can't de facto take any of it, execute it, and garner results with females.
