The Gold Diet, An Effective Tool In Personal Branding

The increasing uncertainty in both economic and politic environment has turned gold

into the main topic of discussion in almost all social and professional circles. The noble metal owes its increase in popularity mainly to the fact that, as someone once said, the only thing you can't do with gold is eat it. That is no longer the case nowadays since a great number of restaurants in many countries have included gold foods and drinks in their menus. Therefore, not only can you eat it but you can also drink it.

Gourmet chefs all around the world add a touch of gold to their recipes because its special sparkle definitely improves the final aspect of a dish. It simply gives food that fabulous touch every top restaurant needs in order to impress customers. And it's not even as hard to swallow as some of you may imagine. Those whom have already tried it say the only particular thing they noticed about gold food and drinks is a very subtle crunch sensation. Apparently, there is not even a trace of metallic taste. But even if there was, it wouldn't matter. Eating and drinking gold is not about flavor. It's all about impressing others and improving your image.

But how can we even think about drinking and eating metal, no matter how valuable it may be. Isn't it toxic? Surprisingly enough, gold is not. The explanation is very simple. If you paid attention to what your chemistry teacher said back in high school, then you probably remember that gold is a heavy metal but an inert heavy metal. This means it doesnt easily react with other chemicals, little less with the one inside the human body. Therefore, if ingested, gold does not cause any damage to our organs and does not affect in any way our health. It simply goes right through.

The variety of gold foods you can find in today's restaurants and even in gourmet shops comes in different shapes and flavors: gold-wrapped popcorn for an expensive movie night, marmalade with gold particles or chocolates flecked with gold leaf, for those in the mood for a little bit of sweetness in their lives. If you are actually hungry, gold-sprinkled caviar an chicken wings garnished with gold leaf are there for you, cookies and cakes containing gold powder for dessert and, for the great finally, liqueur with gold leafs floating in it.

Gourmet chefs in modern restaurants are not the first to use this valuable ingredient. In ancient Egypt, gold used to come on a plate or in a cup as people back then and there believed that once ingested, it had the power to ensure them immortality. The Middle Age aristocrats wrapped roast meat and other dishes in gold leaf as a sign of money and power while British lords and dukes preferred eating oranges and grapes that were previously sparkled with gold powder. Japan is also a country with a great tradition in the "bling-bling" cuisine since they have been adding gold to coffee, sake and food for centuries now.
