The Android powered HTC Desire has proven to be one of the most popular handsets to date for the manufacturer

The dimensions of the HTC Desire are 119x 60x 11.9 mm, making it a pocket friendly handset especially combined with its light weight of just 135 g. Available in black, brown and silver colour variants, it offers aesthetic appeal to style conscious users who also view their phone as a fashion statement.

As with many HTC units, an impressive 5 mega pixel digital camera is utilised. This operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels and offers Autofocus, LED flash, smile detection and geo-tagging. Version 2.1 of the increasingly popular Android operating system is utilised within the HTC Desire, and along with a powerful 1 GHz processor provides ample power to operate demanding applications at lightning fast speeds. A number of entertainment features is included ranging from a versatile media player, a number of pre-installed games and a stereo FM radio player with RDS. Social networkers are catered for with dedicated applications offering direct access to Facebook, Flickr and twitter. Therefore, they can stay in contact with friends and family with a touch of the screen. However this can be upgraded with a card of up to 32 GB offering ample storage for the needs of all but the most demanding users. The internal phonebook can store a practically unlimited number of entries and fields and also boasts the popular Photocall feature.

In order to stay connected to the world via cellular networks and the Internet, the HTC Desire utilises a number of methods. Cellular networks are connected to via class 10 versions of GPRS & EDGE. Connection to the Internet initially rely on 3G coverage, whereby an HSDPA connection provides Internet access at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second (along with HSUPA at 2 MB per second). A faster Internet connection can be achieved thanks to integrated Wi-Fi Technology which utilises the signals provided by wireless Internet routers. The result of this feature is lightning fast Internet connection at broadband speeds.

It is easy to see why the HTC Desire has proven to be such a popular handset for the manufacturer, and with some incredible deals available, it ticks all the boxes.
