The History Of Breil Watches

Breil are one of the leading watch designers and manufacturers

, creating stylish and innovative timepieces for the best part of 70 years. The Italian brand was formed in 1937 after plenty of careful research and designing, and ever since, Breil have maintained their strong unique character and quality.

It was in 1937 that Breil started to design watches for another Italian watch maker, Innocente Binda, but their iconic style changed when they became their own brand (still created by Innocente Binda) in 1942. The revolutionary brand set out to design watches which, whilst remaining of high quality, were for a more fashionable market. Combining fashion with innovation, the brand quickly became a successful watch brand throughout Italy, and later, the world.

In the 1970s, Breil created a new collection called Manta. It was in 1978 that the brand, a brand which has always kept up with consumer demand, created the new, sportier Manta range of watches which aimed to combine function with style to appeal to a more casual market.

Breil's brand carried them through to the 1990s, when, in 1994, they decided to re-launch their identity with the slogan 'you can take anything, but not my Breil'. As well as using sexy models posing with the watches in the adverts, this suggestive slogan helped the brand become sexier. Then again in 2002, they created a new, even more suggestive slogan 'Don't touch my Breil', boosting their image, as well as launching a jewellery range, Breil Jewels, in the same year.

The success of this Italian brand spread from Italy to around the world, becoming particularly successful in the UK and America. Today, Breil continues to design and manufacture quality engineered and fashionable watches for men and women, as well as jewellery, that appeal to fashion-conscious consumers.
