It is no secret at all that when the trade center towers were attacked in two thousand and one, that firefighters were among the first residents of New York city to get involved in helping others. Many of these brave men and women lost their lives and this is very sad. We lose many firefighters each year in much the same way that we lose many officers who are in the line of active duty.

One element that you are going to definitely need for this project is photographs of local firefighters. You need photos of ones that are currently serving, ones that have since retire, and, of course, ones that were sadly lost within the line of duty. You want to try and pick the best possible photographs of these people. They don't necessarily have to be in their work gear.

If this project is to be based around the badges, you are going to have to use your materials of choice to design your very own badges. It is very important to include the names of the department members that you are honoring on each one of these badges. You could actually attach the photos that we have discussed onto the badges as well, if you want to do things that way.

It is so important to remember that you want to put as much time and effort as humanly possible into a tribute style crafts project like this one. There are many hard working firefighters risking their lives everyday, and a lot of others that have lost their's in the line of service. If a limited amount of work went into such a thing, you could easily offend others.

When you are done with this project there are many places that you could take it for display. Some people might find that their local city hall or area of government is a great place for such a thing to be displayed. Some people might prefer the idea of actually bringing the project into the local fire department so it reside in a place where it can bring true inspiration.
