The Lg Gt540 Offers Social Networking Integration

With its imminent release, all eyes are currently on the LG GT540

. The latest offering from the manufacturer, its key features include touch screen navigation, social networking integration, digital camera and the renowned Android Operating System.

The LG GT540 is equipped with a digital camera boasting 3.15 mega pixels (2048x1536 pixel resolution) for decent quality still images. It includes the autofocus feature for taking quality photos with ease. As an alternative method of image capture the camera can also shoot video.

The LG GT540 features an internal phonebook which can store a practically unlimited number of entries and fields. It also includes the popular and useful photocall feature, whereby a photo is assigned to a certain contact, and it is then displayed every time that person is in contact. For storage of data such as music tracks and video clips, a micro SD slot is provided which can accommodate a memory card of up to a whopping 32 GB.

Alert types include vibration and MP3 ringtones to alert users to incoming calls and messages. Hands free communication is made possible by utilising the included speakerphone system.

The LG GT540 is available in Black, White and Pink so a colour to suit most tastes is sure to be found. The 3 inch TFT touch screen provides sharp, clear on screen content thanks to the ability to display 256,000 colours within 320x480 pixels. The screen also features an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate of the on screen content. This senses when the handset has been tilted and rotates the on screen image accordingly so it can be viewed in portrait or landscape.

A selection of connectivity options keeps the LG GT540 connected to the internet and cellular networks. Initially, connection to cellular networks is provided via GPRS and EDGE (both class 10) in areas with little or no 3G coverage. In areas covered by 3G, HSDPA is available at speeds of up to 7.2 Megabytes per second. An even faster internet connection can be attained, however, by utilising Wi-Fi connectivity which takes advantage of the signal provided by local wireless internet routers.

An impressive list of additional functions leaves no doubts about the versatility of this handset. Social networking integration offers direct access to sites such as FaceBook, Twitter and Bebo. A versatile media player supports most of the common formats of music and video files.
