The Magical Moon Landing History
For many of us the moon has merely been an object in the sky changing shape at various times of each month
. On twenty July, nineteen sixty nine, a man named commander Neil Armstrong put his feet firmly on that shining object and made known to the world that it was real indeed. The lunar landing history is one of the most famous subjects in schools, universities and among old friends.
The art of walking on the moon is as much a part of the history as it was in designing a means for doing so. Astronauts needed to wear a space suit that had a built in life support system on the back. This was used to control the oxygen, pressure and temperature that the human being was exposed to. As gravity was dramatically reduces they needed to get used to the jump and float action they were suddenly exposed to.
Considering the eight years of planning and preparation that went into the trip to the moon, waiting six and a half hours in the space craft, they spend a mere two and a half hours on the surface. During this time they did experiments and collected various soil and rock samples to be examined back on earth. With each collected part they hoped that what they had accomplished was not in vain.
One of the most significant historical acts was the American flag that was planted on the surface. This was done as a reminder of what human beings accomplished. The space crafted named Apollo eleven was home to only three men, the other two being command module pilot Michael Collins and lunar module pilot Edwin Aldrin Junior. These three men have become heroes in their own right.
The information and experience one man had from walking on the moon gave way to advanced technology that was later used in second, third and more trips to this planet. They were able to take with them lunar rover cars that were driven on the lunar surface. It meant they were able to cover more ground in search for evidence to take back to earth.
In just four days the lunar landing history was over when on twenty four July, nineteen sixty nine, the Apollo eleven touched down on earth and the current president of the United States of America, John Kennedy proclaimed the visit to the unexplored planet as a successful accomplishment. Since then it has become the dream of millions of boys all over the world who look up in wonder at the bright shining object in the sky.
