The Maldives appeals to tourists looking for total relaxation; newlyweds looking

for total peace and families looking to chill out and be calm and serene. The water is so clear you can see all the fish and wildlife, and it has a great draw for divers and snorkelers. The attraction of the Maldives is that the temperature stays pretty consistent all year round, a pleasant 30+ degrees, and the water is warm enough to swim!

Cocoa Island is a resort for people wanting pure relaxation there are no shops, underwater bars or gimmicks, only a gorgeous beach and simple food like freshly caught lobster. The restaurant is beautiful, and the rooms are joined by decking over the shallow waters.

If you are looking for something more dreamlike, then try the Huvafen Fushi, a quirky hotel with a restaurant where the floor is glass, letting you see everything that is going on under the water below, or you could try one of the other eateries, for example one nestled in the centre of a shallow lagoon.

The best option is the Soneva Gili, where each guest gets their own over the water villa, so you can just swim out into the water from the platform. Each villa has a private roof terrace to add to the romance, an open air private bathroom and air conditioning. The spa offers fantastic treatments, just in case you weren't relaxed enough!
