The Man Behind Gucci Sunglasses

, adore Gucci sunglasses. That's not hard to understand because the brand Gucci is associated with cutting-edge fashion and trendy styles. When you purchase Gucci sunglasses, you get something that not only looks great but is known for its quality. Indeed, Gucci sunglasses have just about everything except the ordinary. This makes them an important part of the constantly changing fashion scene.
But are you aware how the Gucci brand started? Who was Gucci and why are his products popular? It all dates back to 1906 when Guccio Gucci, 25, began a small shop in Florence and named it the House of Gucci. Because he was skilled in creating leather goods, Gucci used his knowledge fully.
In the 1920s, he sold leather bags to horsemen and then luxury luggage items when his customers turned away from their horses and traveled in cars. By 1938, Gucci began his first retail shop in Romes Via Condotti but it was only in 1947 that the first leather bag with the familiar Gucci logo appeared. The red striped webbing, another trademark, was first seen in the 1950s.
Eventually, other items surfaced including ties, shoes, luggage and the familiar handbags with bamboo handles. When Gucci died in 1953, his family opened up more shops in Beverly Hills, London, Tokyo, Paris and Palm Beach. Despite the success of the brand, the company collapsed due to family problems and wrong management decisions. Guccis brother Maurizio later sold the company to Arab buyers in the early 1980s.
In 1990, the company made a comeback when Tom Ford became the executive head of Gucci. Under Fords leadership, Gucci regained its place in the fashion world with products ranging from leather goods, colognes, perfumes, cosmetics, shoes, suitcases, watches, and the ever popular sunglasses.
