There are so many questions that an individual could ask about cosmetic dentistry that I could probably write a short book about it

. However, there are definitely certain frequently asked questions that stand out as being common amongst people.

How do I know if a cosmetic dentist is good?

The best place to begin is with the dentists training. Not all cosmetic dentists are trained for every procedure. You also want to be sure the cosmetic dentist is an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) or the equivalent in the country in which you live. Finally, ask to see before and after photos.

What causes tooth discoloration?

There are a number of things that cause tooth discoloration. It is important to understand that it is a natural part of aging. As the enamel wears away, the teeth begin to look duller and darker. Yes, teens and children can take advantage of cosmetic dentistry. Sometimes it is necessary due to accidents that involve broken, chipped, or otherwise damaged teeth. However, some children and especially teens might be concerned with the look of their teeth. It is best to consult with your dentist first and determine the best course of action based on the desires or your child and their stage of dental development.
