The Myth of Google AdSense???
You are probably wondering why I would choose such a title, after all, I have been in this business for a few years now, but at the same time there are a number of myths which I encounter a lot. A lot of these "helpful suggestions" about Google AdSense are really myths. As in they seem correct but follow them, and you will lose a lot more than you think.
This much is clear: Google is a big business. A huge business. So is AdSense, or more specifically the Google AdSense program.
Because of this fact many people, the world over go and apply to the Google AdSense program in hopes of money, or more to the point a lot of money. More Internet riches than they think that they could make otherwise. The problem that there is, that we all face are teh myths of making money on the Internet, and with Google AdSense
So, what are the myths of Google AdSense?

Money and Google AdSense: Money Myths
Myth #1 Work long enough and hard enough with enough sites, and you will make a million dollars a year. After all it is mind your business.
Fact: No matter how hard you work, nor how long you work, if you don't put everything together you will not get the unique traffic you need to make money with Google AdSense. In fact, according to many sources most blogs do not make more than $2 in the first year. If they do not improve their business, they will not make money in the second year. The foundations must be there: Content, Traffic, Links, Content, and Frequent updates.
Myth #2: Google will help me make money. In fact all I have to do is sit back after I've written a few online sites and Google AdSense money will pour in. Just got to get the search engine traffic.
Fact:Google is a business, and if you are simply thinking you will make money, well the fact is you will not. This is not critical mass type things. This is also putting your eggs in one basket and getting traffic from only one source. it is a consistent quality content, with quality links and good keywords. Search engine traffic is nothing, absolutely nothing if your content is poor, or it is copied. Quality and honesty count.
Writing Myths of Google AdSense
Myth #3: I simply need to type in a bunch of keywords and then I get money from Google AdSense. I read this from a guru on AdSense and I paid ten dollars for this information.
Fact: it is like aiming for one target when in fact you have to aim for six, all at one go. It is called hard work for a reason. A lot of people want to know the secret to making money with Google AdSense, when there really is not a secret. If you have just spent 10 dollars, you will fall for anything. There is a Google AdSense blog, which you can get your information for free, and a resource center on Google AdSense, all written by... Google AdSense staff. Typing in a bunch of keywords that might seem like writing, is writing, but it certainly isn't good writing or good content.
Myth #4: I can make millions of dollars with my blogs, all I have to do is keep linking them. I write a post once or twice a week, and that will make me money.
Fact:My blog (my writing blog in particular) is out there, and it is updated almost everyday. I can almost at this point tell if it will make money or not, the main thing is it is updated a lot, which means it is not keywords nor "making Money" but content that keeps the traffic coming and returning. No, I do not make a million dollars on my blogs, but I do make a nice amount. The point was that it took time.

Keywords, Search Engines and Other Myths
Myth #5: Getting Traffic from Google is the only thing which will make you money. In fact, the main goal of a hub or a website or blog is to get traffic from the Google search engine. This means getting high paying keywords.
Fact: Just writing a hub or writing a blog, will not make you money, nor will choosing any set of keywords because they "look" good. The other thing about the myth that seems to be the most pervasive is the idea that you only need to get traffic from Google. That is an idea you should think of, but what happens when Google changes a few algorithms? You have in that instant lost a lot of traffic you desperately need. The best method is to use all the search engines, and work on keyword searches on the "big three." This way, you will make money. Still, keywords are important, but often not the highest paying that make money
Myth #6: Traffic will come from anywhere, all I have to do is target a few keywords, and do some SEO.
Fact:You and everyone else want to do this. We all want to make money and the idea is that we simply target a few keywords, and then you will get the traffic and make money. The problem with this myth is that it is two fold, one that it is "quick and easy" and two that it is some sort of secret formula. Have you tried to use Google AdWords or other keyword tools? The point is what looks simple is not if you take you time and look to make money. That and some SEO (search engine optimization) is not a "sometimes" thing, either you do this and then edit your older hubs one at a time, or you do not do it. There is not a middle ground for hard work.
AdSense and Steps How to Make Money
Hubpages and Google AdSense.
Myth #7: Hubpages will make me money, I just have to keep on updating my blog, and Google loves updates. With my hub I can make tons of money with impressions.
Fact:I've said this once and I've said this 100,000 time a hub is not a blog. A hub will never be a blog. Your hub is a mini-website. Do not complain if you do not even write a hub and are not making money with Google AdSense. By the way, I have read the Terms of service on Google AdSense, and it never has said that AdSense pays by impressions. Sorry, neither does hubpages, so a poorly written page will lose a lot quickly ( money, followers, comments...). Again, you write a hub and link it to your other hubs, and then if your have a great hub your will make money.
Myth #8: Google AdSense loves hubpages and it has a high Google Page Rank so I am made... the money is easy here.
Fact:This is by far the most destructive myth about hubpages. I have read in many different that (it ranges, which should tell your something!) that hubpages the website has a Page rank of 5-8 on Google. Nice, have you checked you hubs? Do a quick PageRank check on your own hubs, and you will be in for a surprise. They do not have the page rank hubpages does, which is why you need links, and you need to promote your work with care, and you need to write your best, otherwise there is pennies for you. Money is easy...but you need to do the work.
Myths are myths, but really a lot of these can be destroyed if you think it through. The main deterrent to your success is your emotions of money. Some people look for the easy ways to make money, and there is no such thing as easy.
Not to say that it won't become easy over time, so do not lose hope, but you have a long learning curve ahead. When in doubt go to Google AdSense resources, or other trusted places.
Again there are many myths out there, and a general rule of thumb: if it sounds too good... it is. To your success.
