The Need for Breaks
The urge to travel is one of the longings that are hard to ignore, because traveling practically takes us away from our tiring daily routines. Taking a trip every once in a while saves us from total exhaustion, and gives us the chance to take a good break to breathe, relax, and enjoy with our loved ones while forgetting the urban noise. While it is true that traveling is somehow a necessity because it allows us to have quality time with our family or friends, it is common knowledge that not everybody can afford to have a trip.
However, financial issue is not the only reason why other people choose to stay home. Sometimes, they just consider traveling stressful because of the whole planning process, the schedules to catch, and sometimes, there are more important reasons for their money, that is why they intend to keep them in their purses instead of budgeting them for a trip. So instead of booking flights and rooms for the upcoming holiday, some families and couples would just choose to go to the nearest grocery to shop for some beer, meat, and fruits for a backyard barbecue party.
Previously, a couple of years before entering the workforce and lending my undivided time and attention to my job, the society, my family and the responsibilities that go with them, I have resigned myself to believing that traveling is indeed a luxury, fitted only for kings and queens, and barons and baronesses of times past. Of course, like the turning of the hour, my perspective quickly changed when I have experienced, suffered and endured the many anxieties and strains of young adulthood. Especially at this day and age, when finding a ray of light amidst clouds of worries and happiness through simple pleasures seems like a civilization and a dream away, we all need a grand gesture of escape- a lasting experience whose sensation will remain embedded on our dull grey matters long after our senses have died out.
I don't want this to sound too philosophical, because everybody, even the big-name philosophers of history, had known this fact: every once in a while, we need to get away from reality and build our own paradise. With today's hectic lifestyle, where everything asks for our attention and time, traveling is something to reward ourselves for surviving these daily battles. It's the same reason why I am persuading you to stop from what you're doing, and just relax and seize the wonderful moment. Since we started breathing air in our lives, we already have social and personal stress to live up with. We shouldn't overlook the good things we can achieve by taking some time off: the knowledge we can gain, discovering the eagerness of different adventures of life, and meeting warm-hearted people with whom we can share the stories of our lives. You don't need to be the wealthiest person to enjoy a good travel, in the most practical way; you can have the best vacation by just being wise and open to life's sweet adventure.
