The New Nokia N8 Boasting Great Multimedia Facilities

Nokia have followed up there popular N97 and N98 models with the brand new N8, a handset that once again benefits from impressive hardware a some top of the range multi media functionality.

The Nokia is a very stylish handset, and fans of the fashion phone will be pleased with the colour options available on the handset. When actually in use, the device is lightweight enough for such high specification at just 135 grammes yet still retains the feel of being sturdy and well constructed. Nokia have kept the look very minimal with this model, with the 3.5" totally dominating the fascia. Speaking of the screen, this is an impressive affair which is capable of showing a high quality 640 x 360. The screen utilises the most up to date AMOLED technology to produce a depth of colour and viewing angles that you will not find on the more widly used TFT displays. "Gorilla" glass is used on the screen which has superb scratch resistant properties, a wise move considering many handset are kept in bags or pockets with other items. Multitouch is supported on the screen and an accelerometer chip as well as a proximity sensor are both present.

One of the really impressive aspects of the Nokia N8 is the high quality camera function it offers compared to many of its competitors. The 12 million pixel resolution produced is well above the 5 mega pixel standard which seems to have become the industry standard. Not only does the quality of the camera impress, but also the features that accompany it. A high quality Xenon flash ensures dark conditions need not be a problem. Another major attraction is the inclusion of renowned Carl Zeiss optics. The lenses used on a camera are often overlooked, but can in fact make as much of a difference to picture quality as the actual resolution. Looking at video recording, the same high standard is maintained with 720P high definition capture, which is further enhanced by noise reduction to eliminate any imperfections in the picture. HD footage can occupy a lot of memory, so the 16GB internal storage is appreciated, as is the microSD card slot, which means this can be extended by up to 32GB. The Nokia N8 looks like a real challenger to the HTC and Apple handsets available. Media fans will love the functionality, but the phone also excels in more basic areas such as web browsing, e mailing and general everyday use.
