The Nokia C5 Is An Impressive Device

. On the surface, the C5 looks to be a simple handset, but inside it is anything but. A comprehensive range of features makes this a very versatile phone, with key features including social networking applications, a digital camera and 3G internet connection.

The C5 utilises both vibration and ringing to alert users to incoming calls with the option to assign MP3 music files as ringtones. By doing this, users have the chance to customise their phone in order to hear the song of their choice any time the phone rings. Hands free communication is achieved through both a built in audio jack and a speakerphone system.

The C5 has a built in digital camera boasting 5 mega pixels. This offers still images of good quality, and operates at a pixel resolution of 2048x1536 pixels so levels of detail and clarity within the images are very good. An LED flash is included so quality photos can still be taken even in low lighting conditions. The camera can also shoot video in VGA quality at a rate of 15 frames per second.

The C5 is a compact handset measuring 112x46x12.3mm and weighs in at a mere 89.3 grams. Its small size and light weight make it both pocket friendly and a pleasure to hold and use on the go. Finished in grey with a white keypad, the Nokia C5 is an attractive handset so will appeal to style conscious users.

A selection of features makes the Nokia C5 a very functional handset for everyday use. Various formats of both video and music files are supported by the internal media player, such as MP3 and MP4. A stereo FM radio player and a choice of pre-installed games (along with access to a library of extra downloadable games) are included to keep users entertained. A document viewer will no doubt prove handy for business users when out of the office. This is compatible with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents. YouTube, MySpace, Flickr and Facebook all have dedicated applications allowing direct access to the sites, so social networkers really are spoiled for choice.

The 2.2 inch TFT screen utilises a pixel layout of 240x320 to display up to 16M colours. This offers good quality display of onscreen content with very good detail and clarity.

Class 32 GPRS & EDGE are called upon to keep the handset connected in areas with little or no 3G coverage. In areas covered by 3G, the Nokia C5 is granted an internet connection via HSDPA at speeds of up to 10.2 megabytes per second (alongside HSUPA). Bluetooth and USB connections let users connect to other hardware devices to carry out a range of tasks.

The Nokia C5 offers internal memory of 50 MB as standard for storage of data such as media files. A micro SD slot is included for this purpose also, with a pre-installed 2 GB memory card. This can be expanded though, to up to 16 GB by installing a larger memory card.

Despite its relatively simple appearance, the C5 remains very functional, and this very fact is sure to appeal to a range of users.
