The new Nokia E5 provides all the features you would expect from a phone aimed at functionality and efficiency

An ideal phone for business users, its key features include a document editor (which is compatible with word, excel, PowerPoint and PDF files), an organiser, voice command and dial feature, and a full QWERTY keyboard for efficient text entry.

The Nokia E5 measures 115x 58.9x 12.8 mm making it a relatively compact handset which is also very lightweight at just 126 g. The 2.36 inch TFT screen can display up to 256K colours simultaneously for great display clarity and quality of on screen imagery, within a pixel layout of 320x 240.

Vibration and ringing are the default means of alerting users to incoming calls and messages. However users have the option to assign MP3 music files as ringtones. A speakerphone and 3.5 mm audio Jack allow hands free communication on the move to easily be carried out.

Alongside the standard internal memory of 256 MB RAM, there is expandable storage in the shape of a microSD card slot. This has a pre-installed 2 GB memory card which is capable of storing a decent amount of data and files; however this can be replaced with a card of up to 32 GB allowing plenty of storage for music, videos, documents and other files. The internal phonebook can store loads of contacts and also has the Photocall feature.

The Nokia E5 utilises class 32 versions of GPRS and EDGE to stay connected to cellular networks in all but their most isolated regions. In areas with 3G coverage, access to the Internet is provided courtesy of an HSDPA connection at speeds of up to 10.2 mega bytes per second (along with HSUPA at 2 MB per second). A faster connection can be attained by using local Wi-Fi Networks where available. The handset can be connected both directly and wirelessly to other devices via micro USB and Bluetooth connections. Users can utilise these functions to carry out a number of tasks ranging from transferring media files, to sharing contact information.

A handy five mega pixel digital camera is also included on the handset which operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels resulting in great quality still images. Fixed focus and an LED flash enhance the quality of photos whilst simultaneously simplifying the task of taking them. Should users wish to shoot video, the camera can record in VGA quality at 15 frames per second.

Symbian OS v9.3 is the operating system of choice which works in conjunction with a 600MHz processor for a superb user experience. To keep users entertained, or there is a versatile media player which supports many different formats of music and video files, as well as access to a library of downloadable games and a stereo FM radio player with RDS. Ovi Maps is an application which operates thanks to GPS with A-GPS support.

The Nokia E5 is available in several different colour variants adding aesthetic appeal to a phone which has plenty of features to keep users productive and entertained on the move.
