Mobile phone giant Nokia has utilised a wealth of impressive entertainment features in the X6

. Since its release in December 2009, this attractive handset is proven to be a popular phone. Its entertainment features include a whopping 32 GB of internal memory, a versatile internal media player along with a number of other impressive features.

The Nokia X6 boasts a 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with the ability to display up to 16M colours within a pixel layout of 360x 640 pixels. This offers excellent display quality of the user interface, photo is and videos. An accelerometer sensor is built in offering an auto-rotate function, which allows the screen to be viewed in both portrait and landscape forms which is ideal for viewing video files.

A five mega pixel digital camera is included in the Nokia X6 spec list. This provides excellent quality still images thanks to a pixel resolution 2592x 1944 pixels. Users are left with no doubts about the build quality of the camera with Carl Zeiss optics, with a number of image enhancing features such as Autofocus and dual led flash. The popular geo-tagging facility is also included which automatically records the location at which a photo was taken thanks to GPS. VGA quality video can also be shot using the camera at 30 frames per second along with secondary video recording in QCIF quality at 15 frames per second.

A versatile list of features and applications provides an effective everyday functionality and appeal to a range of users. The versatile internal media player supports many different formats of both music and video files whilst a stereo FM radio player and a number of pre-installed games (along with access to a library of downloadable games) provide additional entertainment features. A photo editor, voice command/dial and a handy organiser provide effective productivity applications.


The Nokia X6 is certainly a pocket friendly handset measuring 111x 51x 13.8 mm. Its slimline profile and light weight of 122 g makes it a comfortable phone to hold and use on the move. The appearance of the Nokia X6 could be described as futuristic and minimalistic with an uncluttered fascia dominated by the touch screen.

The Nokia has employed a number of different connectivity features in order to keep the X6 connected to the Internet and cellular networks at optimum levels. In areas covered by 3G, access to the Internet is provided at speeds of up to 3.6 mega bytes per second. A faster Internet connection, however can be attained whenever a signal is detected from a wireless Internet router. This is thanks to the inclusion of Wi-Fi Technology which utilises the signals to provide users with an enhanced browsing experience. Class 32 versions of both GPRS & EDGE provide connections to cellular networks whilst Bluetooth and micro USB connections allow users to connect to other compatible hardware devices.


As mentioned, 32 GB of internal storage is provided by can accommodate data such as music tracks, video clips and photos etc. With this much internal storage, there is no need for expandable memory such as a micro SD slot.

Thanks to its wealth of features not only in terms of entertainment for productivity as well, coupled with its fashionable styling, it is easy to see why the Nokia X6 is a popular mobile phone.
