, as well as in politics. This generation of people has been looked at differently by many people all around the world. The baby boom generation is having many effects on how we think and go about life.
This question is a very easy one to answer. A baby boomer is somebody who was born between the years of 1946 and the year 1964. After soldiers started coming home from world war two, a huge influx in the population occurred. The number of babies being produced rose to almost unhealthy levels.
There are a few things that set these babies aside from babies of different generations. For one, studies have shown that the adolescent stages of these babies was prolonged. It was almost as if they did not want to grow up.
All of these new people also felt an increased sense of individuality. It was almost as if they refused to conform to how others dressed and how they were supposed to act. They all had their ideas and did not hesitate to share them, but refused to listen to the ideas of others.
The boomers were also known for doubting and not accepting authority. This can be seen all through the sixties and seventies, when the number of riots against government forces and policies increased to numbers that rival even the worst times in history.
Economic impact do to these people is being felt now and will continue to grow. Funds such as Social Security and Medicare are meant for the aging population. As the number of people in this population grows, these government funds will be strained and eventually run out, leaving nothing for the future generations to hold on to.
The lives of so many people have been impacted by the boomers. These people of the baby boom generation are much more skeptical of everything and they are much more individualistic than others. Their ways of thinking has changed the world.
