The Opposite Of Dieting - Where The Real Results Are
We think of our common and collective weight gain problem as simply being a matter of eating too much food
. The first thought that comes to mind when we think of a solution is a diet of some kind. Nearly half of us are engaged in an ongoing struggle with food that involves dieting and obsessing about our body weight.
Yet we know that dieting doesn't work - dieting sucks as it is a period of reduced food intake that causes deprivation and suffering that punishes our body and soul. Continuing to try to make something work that we know does not work 95 percent of the time means we are in an ongoing moment-to-moment battle between willpower and desire. Not really a successful strategy to life a happy life.
Dieting has a major flaw and that is only addressing half the problem of being overweight. Sure, what we eat is important but what is even more important is the other half of the equation - the health and 'fitness' of our metabolism - our fat burning machinery. Dieting does nothing to restore this to optimum fuel burning capacity.
The opposite of dieting - a much more sensible, sound, proven and complete solution for weight loss is rather than simply trying to eat less than you burn each day, focus on burning more calories than you eat.
When you get this happening you will lose fat weight and as a bonus you will be gaining a stronger, fitter, firmer more energized body. This is far better than the weaker and flabbier body that a diet leaves behind as it depletes your precious muscle tissue sapping strength and energy.
If you get things right at base level - your metabolism - through proper strengthening exercise you can eat pretty well anything - this does not mean you would. But what to understand that is important is that your eating is not 100 percent of the weight loss game by any means. If you want real and long-lasting weight loss or even better - a strong lean healthy body you have to eat healthily and make your body strong.
So, this is not about trying to reduce your food intake so it fits through the 'eye of a needle' it is about expanding your exercise and activity levels. This does not mean more long duration endurance type activity which will do nothing to boost your metabolism is about getting strong through proper strength training exercise.
This is what will transform your body in the shortest possible time frame and you will have a real need to eat good food so you can nourish and replenish your body. Your proper exercise program needs good food to support it so you can exercise 'harder' not 'longer' where the real results are.
The idea is to tone up your muscular system so that it is burning more fuel (calories) every minute of the day and night. This is your ticket to sustainable weight loss both short term and for the long haul. Think of this strategy as the opposite of dieting - more of everything - more food, more proper exercise, more energy, more strength and the best part of all- more weight loss success.
