How will married couples fare under this new health insurance reform
? How will families with children fare under this new health insurance reform? It does seem there are more questions than there are answers.
There is a provision under this law for long-term insurance that provides health care benefits for those who have a chronic sickness or if they are disabled.
This provision in particular seems indefinite. The high-risk health insurance policy is what all citizens with any form of pre-existing condition will be registered with at a top dollar cost that many today are unable to afford. Just another reason why so many citizens forfeit their health insurance coverage or those who are eligible will be under the Medicaid health insurance plan.
2. Working individuals whose premiums amount to 9.5% of their income are given the option to get health insurance from state-controlled health insurance plans. This seems to be similar to the single-payer health insurance system the government is fighting for. Think about it. If premium rates continually increase, do you think the employers would take alle the responsibility for the additional costs.
Most employers take the full cost of their employees' insurance premiums. But the health care overhaul will bring about some changes to the system. The high premium rates will compel the business owners to pass the additional medical costs to their employees. If not, they might no longer be able keep their business going.
Another thing that's unclear about this is that it does not clearly specify if the basis of the income is gross or net. When you take in to consideration what the government states, it doesn't specify your net salary. What happens when your employer passes on to you the increase? If you have a family plan, that will mean that you'd have to pay $1000 monthly on premium. This won't help you or your employer.
