Sufficiently close to London to also be a commuter town to the Country's Capital, Northampton's situation just a few miles from the M1 Motorway has meant its economy remained buoyant.

There was still demand for the large redundant sites which became prime targets for developers seeking conversion projects to cater for the newer industries coming to the market town, notably finance and distribution. Many national companies saw Northampton's situation as ideal for their base, and as a result Northamptonshire has one of the wealthiest populations outside the Home Counties.

Regarded as one of the more pleasant areas of the UK, it boasts a number of wealthy families enjoying the rural life and its activities.
