Students society is a special organization of young people united not only in accordance with the course of study, but also to hobbies, lifestyle, and others. The college students subculture is a state inside another country. It has its own traditions, and an unofficial authorities. It works in accordance with specific principles.

The Problem of International Relations

There was always an issue of interrelations between overseas college students and US students. Some people tend to think there is no such question as the United States is the country of diversity. American people got accustomed to foreign cultures, religions, lifestyles. US students understand they speak the global language. American students are considered to have an international consciousness. They are open to everything new. And that is why there is nothing to bother about international students.

Others believe this problem existed all the time. Its display may be different but the essence is the same. Consider that one Asian student wishes to study in a college of the USA. He/she is certain that he/she knows American culture perfectly, speaks English fluently, etc. But when he/she arrives to the USA, he/she understands that it's not so easy to absorb with American learners and American lifestyle. He/she comprehends that he/she is to reside in special international dormitories and mess with students of his/her own nationality.

An overseas student should be totally involved in the way of life of US students. It means that he/she has to participate in different US activities, get involved in all parties which American college students organize, to speak only English, even with other foreign students. It means, if a foreign student desires to become a part of US student subculture, he/she needs to forget his/her national culture.

Nonetheless, lots of foreign college students blend with US ones very easily.
