. This is in part due to the fact that Spanx essentially invented the shapewear market, and because of high profile endorsements from the likes of Oprah and Rachel Ray. You may have seen the latest celebrity on the red carpet talk about the benefits of Spanx, even considered buying one yourself, but your still unsure if it will work for you. To help keep you better informed, I will taking a look at the pros and cons of Spanx and their swimwear.

First, lets take a look at the pros. Probably the most important thing to ask is: Does Spanx actually work? Yes, Spanx products, including their line of swimwear, definitely does work. Wearing a Spanx bathing suit or other Spanx product can really make you look lighter by 5, 10, even 15 lb.. The magic of Spanx is that it can help smooth out your body, giving you a clean and slim silhouette. Every womans body is different and may have different problem areas. One of the reasons Spanx is so effective is its ability to target different areas of the body at the same time. You dont have to buy separate pieces to target different areas of your body; every swimsuit and shapewear piece can help target all the different areas of your body. Another important pro of Spanx and its shapewear and swimwear: it builds confidence. Heading to the beach or the pool and want to look your best? Put on one of Spanxs swimsuits or swimwear and head out the door knowing you will look and feel great.

Now lets take a look at the cons of Spanx and its shapewear. The main negative most people agree on is the price. On average, you will spend around $60-$70 on a Spanx bathing suit or other Spanx product. Now, you are probably saying this is not cheap, which is true to a certain extent, but there is more to the story. Spanx offers a less expensive line of swimwear and shapewear called the Assets line. The average price for an Assets piece is around $29.99, which is considerably less and on par with other shapewear. Also, Spanx makes high quality swimwear and shapewear using the best materials available, something that cant be said for other shapewear companies. Some other cons include some women saying the shapewear can cause acid reflux or an upset stomach when they wear them.

Overall, in my opinion the pros far outweigh the cons. Yes, they can be expensive, but you get what you pay for. I would rather spend a little more money upfront if it means my swimsuit will last longer. Also, you can choose to purchase something from Spanxs Assets line if you want a less expensive option. Ultimately, you will have to decide for yourself, and I would always suggest trying on a swimsuit or shapewear piece first before buying it. One thing I can say is that Spanx and their line of swimwear and shapewear can help you to look and feel your best.
