The Resilient Paper

The material that has fought the internet bravely and is still being resilient is known as paper

. In the face of paperless organisations and tablet PCs, paper is still the premier material for writing down notes and stuff. Paper is not only used for writing but also for printing and packaging.

Paper is used commercially, industrially and domestically. It is used as a cleaning material due to its absorbing properties in towels, handkerchief, tissue papers etc. Paper can also be used as an ingredient in food in many cultures in Asia.

Paper has immense importance as a tool for record keeping and information storage. It is a great form of communication and its common examples are writing letters, making print advertisements, publishing brochures, getting books printed, making cartoons etc. This communication gets transmitted when people read the things that are written on paper.

Paper also represents value. It is through the paper that important documents are published. Financial documents such as bank notes, promissory notes, cheques, tickets and vouchers are all made on paper. So paper is still important for printing money despite the marketing of plastic money such as credit cards.

The type of paper that is used for printing things is different from that which is used for writing. For packaging corrugated boxes are used for bigger things. Paper bags are used in super stores for groceries. Envelopes are used for packaging letters and wrapping papers for gits and presents.

Many things can be constructed out of paper. Japanese are known for making cranes in origami. One can make paper honeycombs, planes - all out of paper. Other uses of paper include paper being used in science labs for example in paper chromatography, litmus paper, and filter paper. Thus paper is beating all odds against the internet and the paper is indispensable even in this age of internet.
