The Revamped Vw Eos Unveiled

In 2006 Volkswagen released the EOS; it is the successor to the Golf Cabriolet

. Unlike the Golf Cabriolet the EOS does not share any common body panels with the Golf and is a standalone model, making it the first production VW coupe since the Carrado in 1995.

Now into its fourth year the EOS has been given a makeover, the face lifted model is due to be available from January 2011 in the UK. As well as visual and cosmetic changes the EOS has also undergone technical changes to keep it ahead of its nearest competition, the Focus CC, Megane CC and Astra Twin Top.

The refreshed EOS will be available with a few engine choices including diesels and petrols. These include a 1.4-litre TSI with 122bhp or 160bhp, a 2.0-litre TSI unit producing 210bhp as well as a refined 2.0-litre TDI engine delivering 140bhp. The new EOS will also be available as VWs BlueMotion Technology model, which will feature Stop/Start and battery regeneration systems to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Like the first generation EOS the new Volkswagen EOS in Newbury will have an advanced five piece folding roof with an integrated tilt sliding glass sunroof. New to the EOS though is remote roof opening and closing, if the EOS is specified with Keyless Entry then the roof can be operated via the key remote. VWs Park Assist will also be available for the first time on the EOS, the increasingly popular system which aids both parallel and adjacent parking manoeuvres.

Inside the new EOS has revamped finishes and includes a leather multifunction steering wheel, air conditioning, a powerful eight-speaker CD stereo system and sports seats.
