. That is a huge rise from the year before. Over 160 officers were killed in the line of duty in 2010, the range of cause of death ranges from gun killings to vehicle incidents. If you needed proof of the danger they place themselves in daily then that is what you have. It is a sobering thought and one that begs the question, is there any Police supply equipment or items that can help protect the officers who put themselves, literally in the line of fire on a daily basis.

One way of protecting is of course for an officer to wear a bullet or stab proof vest, and these are readily available but not standard issue. An officer can if he or she wishes purchase their own boots, under shirts and sunglasses. These items can increase their comfort and therefore assist them in staying safe. Therefore, regardless of what Police supply items an officer has, if they are well made, durable and comfortable then they are giving them the upper hand. An officer needs to know he has the tools to enable him to do his duty and Police supply is the tools of their trade.
