You cannot become a great basketball shooter overnight. It requires several hours of practice. Shooting is a skill you need to work on and you really need to work hard to excel in it. ? In one motion, you should be able to take the ball above your head at an angle where the elbow, wrist and armpit are at 90 degrees.
? As you extend your knees, you also need to extend your forearm before your snap your wrist.
? Then follow with your wrist movement. It you can jump upon releasing the ball then do it!
In set-shot, you shoot basketballs using kinetic energy that is transferred from your legs all the way to your hands. With the snap of your wrist, you can direct the ball and then add backspin to it.
If power coming from your legs is not enough for you to be able to shoot the ball in, you will be using your wrist. However, you should try not to force your wrist or to jerk it for extra power. All you'll do is greatly reduce the accuracy of your shot.
