The Secret To Making Your Wife Accept Your Divorce Settlement Offer

If you take what I am about to teach you on how to get a fair divorce

, you'll save a ton of money and time and be on your way to a "new beginning" full of wonderful opportunities. If you choose to ignore this you will end up frustrated, abused by the divorce racket and perhaps broke.

Learn from my story:

I have learned that it is best to learn from "other" people's mistakes so take notes because class is about to begin. And it starts with my experience with my personal divorce mediations. By the way, these mediations were the "typical" kind that usually gets mediocre results at best. You will want to use a Client-Centered Mediation that creates a win/win for both parties quickly.

We met at the mediating attorney's office and went through the typical formalities. My divorce attorney and I were in one room and my wife and her attorney were in another. They eventually made an offer in which she wanted permanent alimony and have custody of our son 80% of the time and to split the assets and liabilities up 50/50.

I had no idea how my financial future would look like for me and for her because I did not have a Divorce Blueprint (divorce financial plan) that made financial projections.

I was in the dark and didn't know if her offer was a fair and equitable settlement so I declined. We were working in the dark and that was a total waste of time and thousands in legal fees.

Remember the scene in the movie with Tom Cruz where his character, Gerry McGuire repeats back to his client, "Show me the money!" In my case I couldn't "see it" so nothing really got accomplished.

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make repeatedly in my financial planning practice is that they do not have a financial plan that "shows them the money". By not having one they make critical mistakes that costs them extra taxes, fees, and loss of capital.

The same thing happens in a divorce case. People go through it unprepared without a Divorce Blueprint that "shows them the money". They unfortunately find out about those mistakes over time after the divorce is finalized and then it is too late.

Going through a divorce is a very emotional time. You have to be prepared. That means having all of your financial information organized and analyzed so that a fair and equitable settlement can be created. A CDFA(TM) can also do "what if scenarios" and "show you and here the money" so you can make rational and informed decisions.

Here are three simple action steps to move you towards a fair and equitable divorce quickly and get through it with the least amount of pain and costs:

1.) Get educated about your state's divorce laws by going to your state bar association's family law section. You don't need to be an expert but you need to understand the law and don't listen to your friends just because they are divorced.

2.) Organize all of your financial information as if you were going to the bank for a loan or a house closing. You will need all of your financial records from the past three to five years. If you own a business you will need all of your tax returns and bookkeeping records from the past five years. Make certain that you get a recent credit report too. Get this information into the hands of a CDFA(TM) so that they can analyze it and help you create a fair settlement offer.

3.) Take immediate action right now and write down your desired outcome for your divorce. Gaining clarity about what you want and don't want will help you more than you think.
