The Situation That Lasik Plus Takes Effect

Refractive errors always lead to three types of eye problems: myopia

, hyperopia and astigmatism. Presbyopia, though caused by aging, is also included in refractive error.

Myopia is commonly called shortsightedness. Its known to all that the myopia eye can only see close things clearly but see things far away obscurely. Hyperopia is the opposite condition, whoever in such circumstances sees distant object clearer than object nearby. Astigmatism is always companied with myopia and hyperopia which leads to a more terrible result because astigmatism eye can not see either distant and near things clearly.

Many methods in the market can correct the abovence th three disorders, such as glasses and contact lens. As the glasses may influee looking and the contact lens injures the cornea, a new technology called Lasik plus gets more attention which can improve all three types of refractive errors. A negative power put on the cornea can correct myopia, and a positive power can rectify hyperopia, and a cylindrical power can deal with the astigmatism problem. The therapeutic effect is notable.

When it comes to presbyopia, Lasik surgery with Lasik plus technology runs into a stone wall. At present, Lasik plus is not able to cure presbyopia. Why not? With time goes by, especially when you are more than forty years old, muscles which help to adjust eyes degenerate and the function of lens weaken. Neither the near nor the distant image, presbyopia eye cant adjust to the best condition. Since Lasik plus technology cant solve the substantial problem, it couldnt contribute to the cure of presbyopia. However, many institutions attribute themselves to researches about the vision problem, and a positive treatment certainly will be applied to presbyopia in future.

If presbyopia goes with myopia or nearsightedness, the situation will be more complicated. Myopia can be cured by Lasik surgery with Lasik plus technology, but presbyopia can not. Therefore we must find a balance for compensation between these two eye disorders.
