The Soaring Mobile Application Development Trend In India

According to a report released by Gartner, the mobile application development industry

in India has seen a growth rate of more than 22 percent in a span of one year. By the end of the year 2012, the total revenue earned by mobile app companies in India will amount to more than $225 million. The improved methods of development, brand new software models used in Indian companies, and increased knowledge of mobile apps for the mobility of business has led to this phenomenal rise in this industry.

This report of Gartner, titled Market Trends: Application Development Software, Worldwide, 2012 2016 is an eye opener for Indian businesses. It reveals that enterprise mobility consulting is a priority for small and large companies in present India; not only corporate but also government agencies are incorporating cloud computing to remain abreast in the stiff competition in the market. The reason why mobile app companies are in high demand these days in the country, according to Asheesh Raina, Gartners head research analyst, is the emergence of cloud and social computing for conducting business procedures. Today, all enterprises in India are striving towards incorporating new business models, latest programming languages and user skills to mobilize profits. The availability of open source software for app development will increase in the near future, thus raising the demand for enterprise mobility consulting.

More than a billion users of the web access the internet through their mobile devices these days. The advent of social networking sites and smartphones has completely changed Indias approach towards gathering and sharing information using the web. Mobile web apps give people, especially large enterprises, better visibility among prospective customers. The rise of web applications that are also user friendly and can be accessed via mobile browsing has inspired companies in India to adopt mobile apps. In the month of June this year, India tasted its most successful venture into mobile apps development. A game application known as Parking Frenzy, started by a Mumbai based gaming company, was appreciated by the whole world when 10 million downloads of the app, all by users of mobile devices manufactured by Apple, was recorded spanning the US and the UK. The game, inspired from real life scenario, became such a hit that mobile application development companies in India are now enjoying the spotlight of both national and international enterprises. Though this app was a trendsetter in its own unique way, a few more examples can be cited to highlight the rising trend of mobile app development in India. For instance, the productivity app Wonderful Day created in Chennai climbed to the second position in US rankings. We also must not ignore the Super Badminton game app.

The surge in the use of mobile devices in India in the recent past is the main reason for rising mobile app development trends. The number of employees engaged in providing enterprise mobile app solutions is also rising by the day.
