The Spanish Conjugator - What Is It?

A Spanish conjugator is simply a tool, be it a software program or a book that highlights the various changes to a verb's structure

. These changes are effected by the person, or persons performing the action and also when the action is being carried out (tense). A Spanish conjugator will allow you to find the correct conjugation quickly and easily.

There are a number of free Spanish conjugators available on the internet which is great if you are always in the position to access them, but all of them are limited in their usefulness, plus, if you need a Spanish conjugator whilst in a classroom or perhaps on holiday you will need something a bit more mobile such as a handbook that covers all the verbs that you are likely to encounter.

The other drawback of online Spanish conjugators is that many of them are very basic in their compilation of verbs, especially irregular verbs, so if you need a Spanish conjugator that has everything you will ever need to look up you will need a specialist resource guide, something you can refer to throughout your studies and beyond.

To be truthful, there really isn't much of a need, other than initially, for a Spanish conjugator for regular Spanish verbs as they all follow the same pattern for their respective groups, so once you learn the conjugations for the -ar group of regular verbs you know them all, and this is also the case for the -ir and -er verbs. So the area where you, and many other students, will need to spend most of their time learning will be the many various conjugations of irregular verbs.

Here for your information are the conjugations for the three regular groups in the present tense;

trabajar (to work); aprender (to learn); escribir (to write)

trabaj-o, aprend-o, escrib-o - I work/learn/write

trabaj-as, aprend-es, escrib-es - you work/learn/write(singular, familiar)

trabaj-a, aprend-e, escrib-e - he/she/it works/learns/writes, or you (singular, polite) work/learn/write

trabaj-amos, aprend-emos, escrib-imos - we work/learn/write

trabaj-ais, aprend-eis, escrib-is - you work/learn/write (plural, familiar)(the a,e and i of each ending has an accent)

trabaj-an, aprend-en, escrib-en - they or you (plural, polite) work/learn/write
