The Three Stages of Your Pregnancy
As you go through the pregnancy stages, you will notice all kinds of changes in your body
. Your baby is changing too! Each of the three trimesters of pregnancy is important to your baby's growth and health. As you move through each, take the time to learn about what is going on with your baby, and enjoy the precious moments of your pregnancy.
In the first trimester, you will see the
first signs of being pregnant, with symptoms like fatigue, nausea, tenderness of the breasts and food cravings. As these symptoms progress, your baby is also growing rapidly and turning from an embryo into a fetus! Early in this trimester, your baby's heart will start to beat, and by the end of the first trimester all of the vital organs will be in place. During this trimester the baby is most vulnerable to birth defects, so be sure to follow your nutrition plan and see your doctor regularly.
The second trimester is when the pregnancy begins to show, and most women start to need
pregnancy clothes to be comfortable. Your belly is expanding, and soon the baby will be large enough that you will feel the kicks and movements from within.
In the third and final trimester, the last of the
pregnancy stages, your baby will continue to grow and prepare for birth. The lungs will complete their development during this trimester. As the end of the third trimester, and thus your pregnancy, approaches, you will be large, uncomfortable and ready to meet your baby. Spend these final days preparing for baby's arrival; soon your pregnancy journey will end and a new one will begin!
