The Coastliner buses have scheduled timetables from the Leeds area through York and the Arriva Bus Company runs a timetable from Whitby to Middlesbrough.

The bed and breakfast establishment providers in Whitby are able to offer homely and relaxing accommodation at affordable prices in comparison with the larger hotels and guest houses and as more and more events are held throughout the year it is becoming particularly more attractive for home-owners to open their doors to paying visitors. This has the added benefit that there is a monetary threshold to be reached before any taxes are to be paid to the Inland Revenue once expenses have been deducted resulting in lower prices. Another reason why the Whitby B&B is a win win situation for the home owners and the holidaymakers alike.
