The Trends In Latest Bollywood Movies
The last couple of decades saw a great shift in the way Bollywood movies are made
. From producing commercial potboilers to serious movies, featuring the expression of various issues facing the world and India in specific have become the characteristics of Indian movies of the 21st century. There has been a complete revolution in the techniques, themes, subject matter and ideas on which movies are based. The latest Bollywood movies and upcoming releases sufficiently reflect this change of ideas.
The distinction between mainstream commercial cinema and parallel out of the box cinema has become so blurred that producers have become more and more confident in investing in films that tell a unique story. The latest Bollywood movies feature excellent stories, editing, direction and cinematography. New talents emerging in every field be it actors, directors, singers, producers etc are not hesitant in trying out new and challenging ideas. This new generation is ready to experiment and produce films that can blow off the spectators hats. They are showing their credibility by spreading awareness and influencing large audiences through the medium of their revolutionary movies. Producers and directors have recognized the worth of movies trailers in bringing the audiences in theatres.
Many of the recently released top movies such as Udaan, A Wednesday and Aarakshan tell the tale of a middle class individual and the power of a commoner. They deal with the common mans conflict with the high-class individuals, corrupt ministers, social injustice and global terrorism.
Another great shift has been noticed in the field of special effects, use of technology and the production of movies that are visually appealing. Movies like Drona, Ra.1 and Krrish prove the capabilities of the Indians to produce such high visual effects films that were earlier seen only in Hollywood. Animation movies My Friend Ganesha have also made huge bucks on the box office, which suggest their viability to the Indian audiences.
The wave of remakes has taken Bollywood by a stream with producers looking to remake old Bollywood top movies as well as remakes of western cinema. A classic example of it is the latest release Don which is a remake of Amitabh Bachchans 70s blockbuster movie by the same title.
There has also been a rising trend of increased sensuality in movies such as Fashion, Love, Sex aur Dhoka, Murder etc targeting the urban metropolitan set of viewers. Cheesy scenes in such movies often generate much hype and controversies and movies trailers have hugely been successful in luring audiences into the cinema halls.
There are a huge number of movies being produced every year with new releases lined up every Friday. Each production house is interested in producing and co-producing multiple movies simultaneously.
There is no place, where the popularity of Bollywood has left no mark. Indians spread all over the globe as well as foreigners are fascinated by the flavor that Bollywood offers. Bollywood is growing at a very fast rate with increasing overseas prints and uptakes in the overseas markets and may soon come in line with Hollywood.
