The Truth About Height Supplements That "they" Won't Tell You About
There are many people out there who just aren't as tall as they think they should be

For whatever reason, they are shorter than the average person and eventually find a strong desire to become a bit taller for various reasons, be it to make it easier to find a loved one, to be able to reach high cabinets better, to look more attractive , etc. Whatever the reason, there are a variety of ways to actually get taller, one of them being height supplements. However, for those looking to gain a couple inches vertically, sometimes height supplements aren't always the best choice. To be able to understand why, it is important to be aware of how height supplements work. But first, let's discuss what determines how tall one will become.
One's height is determined by a variety of factors: 1) The genetics you take over from your parents; 2) the age at which you begin to develop sexually (i.e. puberty); 3) the age at which you have your first period (for girls of course); 4) your all-around health. Men begin to stop growing around the age at which they start shaving on a daily basis. This can range from 16 to 25. Women stop usually stop growing around a year after their first period, and sometimes even up to age 23. Keep in mind, though, that everybody's bodies are different, so one can continue to grow even after puberty.
So what is wrong with height supplements?
When one wants to become taller, they can choose to take height supplements. Thought effective sometimes, height supplements tend to have some downsides and negative side-effects. First of all, height supplements can be very costly. If a doctor prescribes growth hormones, tablets, or suggests surgery, you will end up paying an arm and a leg. Surgeries and hormone injections can also be quite painful. For a doctor to be able to even prescribe height supplements to you, they must perform and in-depth case history and many lab tests (which are also very costly and take quite some time!). Another major reason that height supplements are not the best for gaining vertical inches is that if you overdose on the growth hormones, you can develop hypo-/hyperglycemia, diabetes, high cholesterol, liver disease, and allergic reactions.
Tips For Getting Taller
If you really want to get taller, you should avoid costly and often dangerous height supplements. Instead, here are some good tips to help you get taller.
- Make sure you have an adequate amount of sleep each night, as this is when the body does most of its growing.
- Drink plenty of water daily. The recommended amount is 64 fluid ounces.
- Eat a proper diet and establish a routine of sufficient exercise.
- Take a multi-vitamin to ensure that you are receiving your body's daily necessary amounts of different vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients.
