The spiritual life of the recipient of such technology may undoubtedly be transformed
, but it was not spirituality (other than inspiration) that created the new chip that allows the formerly blind to see again. I for one believe the world would be a much better place if we were all a little humbler about our accomplishments. Einstein certainly displayed a humble demeanor. Hawkings on the other hand certainly does not. I believe that our achievements would be farther reaching and benefit a far greater number of people if we realized that the true miracle in something as wonderful as bionics comes from that unexplainable quality in humans that pushes and inspires them to the greatest of frontiers and boundaries with the little resources they have. It is true that we cleverly invent, but maybe the real question from this angle becomes, did we invent ourselves?
