The Truth Behind Brand-name Vitamin Secrets

The cutthroat battle between distributors and retailers for superiority defines the current state of the vitamin industry

. These companies are all about promises and superior claims that their vitamin supplements give customers the best value for their hard earned money.

Still, it bears mention that most of these vitamin providers buy their products wholesale from private manufacturers.

Believe it or not. If you buy major brands like GNC and Vitamin World, you'll be surprised to find that they rely mainly on private label companies for the bulk of their vitamin production and packaging.

Private label companies also manufacture the vitamins for companies who hawk their products through multi-level networks and other forms of marketing. These sales and MLM agents will focus on secret formulas and processing techniques to sell their overpriced products, but remember where these products came from - private labels.

The reality is that close to 33% of brand name vitamins sold in America are produced and packaged by manufacturers like Vitarich Laboratories and Randal Nutritional Products. In fact, at least 21 vitamin brands in the MLM industry owe their secret formulas to Vitarich.

This is the shocking truth, but it is in no way a major expose. We believe, though, that vitamin product customers used to name brands should know these facts.

A customer does not need to spend big money in order to get healthy with vitamins. Many nutritional specialists and physicians highly recommend "drug store brands" as opposed to major brand names. To ensure good quality for any vitamin product, make sure it has the approval of the U.S. Pharmacopeia, or USP, on the label.

However, not all generic, or private label brands are a cut above brand name vitamins. Just don't believe everything the retailers would tell you about their products.

A little research goes a long way in determining which brand to purchase. Don't bother with the more expensive brands and their special ingredients if the distributor doesn't want to disclose how and where their vitamins are manufactured.
