Tsavo West National Park is located on the Coast Province of Kenya. It's the other part of Tsavo East National park subdivided by the A109 Road and the railway. It covers an area of 9,065 square kilometers. It attracts a lot of visitors due to the activities within. There are group activities to engage in like mountain climbing and guided walks along Tsavo River. The famous Mzima Spring is located on the western part of this park.

Tsavo West National Park is more mountainous and wetter that its counterpart. The area is covered with swamps like Lake Jipe and Mzima Springs.

Its counterpart is generally flat with dry plains. The area is widely regarded for birdlife and the large numbers of animals. They range from Cape buffalo, African wildcat, cheetah, yellow baboon, lion, giraffe, African elephant, gazelle, impala, Egyptian mongoose, striped hyena, spotted hyena and the list is endless. The area has remained home of the local communities like the Orma and Maasai who are mainly pastoralists.

Tsavo West National Park focuses more on climbing activities. There is a club called Mountain Club of Kenya which one can join and become a member. This way he/she receiving updates on climbing activities around. The climbing of the park is wonderful experience as one can view elephants roaming below the cliff. Mt Kilimanjaro can be observed from the cliff on a clear day. There are a lot of birds to watch milling along the cliffs like falcons, vultures and eagles. One of the best climbing rock is Kichwa Tembo and that even attracted the first explorers.
