The natural rubber like the synthetic rubber has high molecular compounds but it is derived from the natural resin latex. The latex is a milky compound found in the sap of the rubber plant. The synthetic rubber is processed out of pure monomers by polycondensation or polymerization process. The polycondensation and polymerization are two different methods used by manufacturer that varies the production capacity of the rubber.

Most of the synthetic rubber types are isoprene, butadiene, butadiene-methystyrene and butadiene-styrene, chloroprene, carboxylated, ethylene-propylene, butadiene nitrile and many others. The monomers for polymerization are mainly ethylene derivatives and diene hydrocarbons. Other substances used are silicon, dyisocyanates and esters. The non-saturated rubber is derived from diene hydrocarbons polymerization and by copolymerization of ethylene derivatives. The different types of rubber exhibit different characteristics, structures and vulcanization properties. When any rubber manufacturers speak about vulcanization to you he means of the precise curing process of rubber which involves high heat and addition of curatives. It is the vulcanization process that yields rubber with its definite property that are then formulated and shaped for various industrial uses.
