A place with England situated to the east and the Atlantic Ocean and Irish Sea to the west, Wales is part of the United Kingdom and is known as a Holiday destination to many.

Tourists have always been drawn to the wild and picturesque landscape, most of which have vast mountains, mostly in the Central and Northern regions. These had been naturally shaped by glaciers during the last Ice Age. Mountain climbing, walking, cycling, golf, water sports, and even paragliding are a few of the more adventurous activities for the outgoing-type.

The weather is more often windy, cloudy and wet, preferred by tourists all year round especially in the summer where Wales is known for its long summer days and you can find your holiday accommodations in any of its quaint cottages or magnificently imposing homes, but you won't be staying indoors for long as there is far too much to see and experience.

Wales has 3 national parks, to the delight of hikers, backpacking tourists. Visitors also come to bask in 5 different areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, areas like Anglesey, the Wye Valley and the Clwydian Range. All of these areas are of course under National protection. Wales is also home to a vast number of birds, over 200 species in fact and is a treasure horde for the wildlife enthusiast, not to mention a varied amount of sea and inland wildlife. People also come to visit the Seven Wonders of Wales, a mix of cultural and geographic landmarks in Wales, rich in historical value.

Many islands are situated off the mainland and Wales has approximately 1,180 km of coastline, perfect for a beach Wales holiday getaway. You can take your pick from any of the 45 Blue Flag Beaches all over the country.

Many works of Celtic art and mythology populate Welsh history, as can be seen in many of its cultural monuments and literature. Wales of course is claimed as having one of the oldest unbroken literary traditions for the avid historian. A country not only known as a holiday destination but one filled with deep history.

The great stone castles, over 600 in fact plus the Welsh royal home and headquarters, much of which are still standing today are beautifully kept in pristine condition. These have been home to several royal dynasties and it is not uncommon in Wales for visitors to spend their entire holidays visiting these amazing structures.

Known as "The land of song", and well noted for its artists Wales plays host to many greats: solo artists, group performers, choirs and of course the orchestra, make up an integral part of Welsh musical culture. Much of their performances can be experienced at the national festival of music and poetry called "National Eisteddfod", a holiday event in its own right and a notable attraction for tourists and music lovers alike.

These and more would make up the experience of Wales.
