First of all since most of the work at home jobs are done online or offline you need a computer. Most of the times any working computer will do as long as it has some word software and a spell check and a data base program like for example Excel. Next you need to have an internet connection so that you can work online if necessary, receive your projects, and even participate in web meetings. The recommended internet connection is a high speed one. Depending on your work at home you might be required to have a telephone land line. If these are the basic things you need to start a work at home job, after you start making some money you might want to invest in a printer, a scanner or an all in one. It is also a good idea to have speakers, headphones and a microphone. But all these depend on the type of work at home position you apply for. If you are going to work as a consultant or as customer service for a company, you will e required to have a telephone line and sometimes you might even be able to do it all from your computer if you and the other party have good internet connections and both have microphones and speakers. Even if you are working from your phone line, you might want to consider having a headset with a microphone so that you can do your job without getting your body tired from holding the phone for long periods of time. If you are trying a typing work at home position that is most of the times referred to as a data entry job, you might want to invest in an ergonomic chair that allows you to sit two hours or more in front of the computer and not feel tired when you are done. If you are working on projects, you might need a fax machine since it might be easier for your client to fax you the data rather than scan it. But just to get you started in a data entry job a computer with an internet connection and a spell check program will be more than enough. About the Author:
