Working on a slow computer makes me feel like passing through hell and I believe that everyone experiences something similar. I worried a lot and was ready to spend any amount to get my system back in its fast mode. I was searching for a technical person when one of my friends visited me to use my computer. I did not know 'How to speed up my computer' I told him that my system would take ages to do a small work and to extent of my surprise, he started doing certain things here and there. And then my system started working at good speed. I was amazingly surprised to see the things that were happening right in front of me and that actually saved me big money that I would have otherwise spent in getting it repaired.

You can defrag your pc by going to Start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools -> Disk defragmenter. A short while later, it will result in good speed. Deleting all unnecessary files prior to starting Disk defragmenter also helps a lot.
To run an Antivirus program that can keep the system free from viruses, Spyware and malware. If your system runs extremely slow or shows unwanted websites or pop-ups when you are not even connected to Internet, then it is probably infected with some Spyware.
Internet cache must be cleared and cookies and temp directory must be deleted regularly to speed up browsing. Temp directory stores hundreds of files with time and slow down system immensely. So you can also clear the temporary files like nternet cache and something like this.
Next, you can uninstall unused programs/ files which is another best way to speed up my computer. Go to Control Panel -> Add / Remove Program to delete program completely.
