Designer Jason Denham worked with a lot of large and famous denim manufacturers for
a long time before he realised that his vision for what denim could be and what made a good pair of high fashion jeans was not finding expression in any of these companies. So in 2002 the talented designer from the Netherlands established his own designer label to make the kind of jeans he always wanted to but never could while he was designing jeans with someone else's name on them.
Thus was born the hip fashion label Denham Jeans which took its name from its founder's surname which in a weird quirk of fate was always pronounced as denim in the first place. He added a logo of a pair of scissors to his name, the very pair of scissors with which he cut his first pattern in a piece of denim fabric and the rest as they say is history.
The reason that Denham jeans have achieved success in the few short years that they have been on the market is a simple one. Jason says that the difference between a good pair of jeans and a bad pair of jeans is knowing when to pick your pencil up off the paper and stop designing the jeans. This simple philosophy has made Denham's designs simple and stylish and has made the label that shares his name as famous and fast selling as brands that have been in the business for years and in many cases even decades.
The sales of Denham today frequently outpace those of the big brands that Jason once worked for and designed jeans for not so long ago. Today Denham has jeans at a number of pricing levels to suit a number of pockets. Jason says that they all have the same exquisite level of fit, finish and construction, it is only the difference of fabric and washing that makes the difference in price. The most expensive jeans in the Denham range are made of the most expensive denim in the world which comes from Japan which Jason claims is the best denim in the world.
Denham sells both online and through high fashion retailers around the world. Last year to showcase the launch of the very successful 2009 Denham collection, the brand opened the doors of its first exclusive store in the extremely trendy Nine Streets area in the Dutch City of Amsterdam.
