There Are Many Different Ways To Catch A Trout

If you want to fish for trout, you have a number of different options to choose from when selection trout fishing bait

. For example, you might just want to stop at a bait shop and purchase live bait such as night crawlers or minnows.

In the alternative, you could use artificial fishing lures which impersonate the trout's natural prey. It is also possible to use live bait along with an artificial lure to catch trout.

If you are interested in fly fishing, then you might want to use a fly to hook a trout. There are many options available to a trout fisherman. Live trout fishing bait is readily available and is the most natural alternative.

As long as you are willing to handle creepy crawly insects and work them onto a hook with your bear hands, then there is nothing like a worm, fat nightcrawler or other insect to tempt a trout. Obviously, smaller fish call for smaller bait. Minnows can also be used as live bait to catch a larger trout.

When you are baiting your hook with live bait, try to make the presentation look as natural as possible to more readily catch a trout's attention. Leave some slack so the worm can wiggle enticingly and don't use too large of a hook.

You can also fish for trout using lures as the trout fishing bait. Lures are plastic or metal pieces which you can reuse and which are designed to look like the trout's natural prey. The most common types of lures used to catch trout are called spinners and spoons.

A spinner lure is shaped an airplane propeller and is designed to spin in the water. The movement looks like a small fish to the trout. Rainbow trout are said to be especially drawn to spinner lures. A spoon lure is shaped like a spoon and reflects light to attract trout.

Fly fishing may be the most challenging of methods to catch a trout. Fly fishing involves casting fishing flies, which are another type of lure, through the air and into the water to attract the attention of the fish.

Since trout spend most of their time well below the surface of the water, you need to make sure that you get a fly that will sink down into the water to get to the trout's level. This type of trout fishing bait often resembles a hatching insect and is referred to as an e merger fly.
