It is a complete exercise as you have maneuver and sail across the water each muscle of your body is involved. If it is a nice sunny day you will get the extra benefit of soaking in some Vitamin D.

But when you start of make sure that you have the right kind of equipments, especially the surfing board. Dont use the light weighed boards, they are meant for racing and require high expertise to handle them. Sail boards that beginners should use are made out of polyurethane; the dimension depends on the person riding on the board. Get the one that suits your size. Get the right suit and equipments and you will be safe while surfing.


Any person who weighs 150 pounds will burn 200 calories with every hour of windsurfing and if the wind is strong it will be more exhausting.
