There is One way to God, not a religious buffet

Dear Editor:
In the Faith Page of Friday, Feb. 18, Don Reeve's article entitled "Searching for Understanding" encourages the idea, as he has done before, that "True Religion" cannot support the idea of there being only one God or one faith.
In contrast to this "religious buffet" concept, where one can simply find a god of their choosing, I submit that the Bible does indeed teach that there is "...one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all..." (Eph. 4:5-6).
Mr. Reeves stated that the idea of one faith 1) Philosophically illogical, 2) Intellectually indefensible, 3) Psychologically imprisoning, 4) Emotionally unhealthy, and 5) Theologically unholy. I stand in opposition to each of these points.
The idea of one faith is philosophically and practically logical and reasonable. I believe the more illogical idea is that faiths, which teach differing fundamental views could could all be correct. This is patently absurd. Something is either true or it is not.
The idea of one faith is fully defensible intellectually; it is just a matter of whose intellect you believe in. Many intellectuals, including C.S. Lewis, and Francis Schaeffer, have written excellent book on the intellectual basis of the Bible.
The idea of one faith is definitely not psychologically imprisoning; to the contrary, it is the "truth that sets us free" as we realize that Jesus Christ has paid our sin debt and we now have the hope of heaven. This brings peace, joy, and purpose like nothing else.
The idea of one faith is healthy emotionally, spiritually, and even physically when we have our faith in Jesus Christ and His atoning work that brings complete salvation to mind, body, and spirit.
I don't really know what Mr. Reeves mean by Theologically Unholy, but the truth of Christianity proclaims theological soundness and the holiness of God being imputed to man, who is then able to live holy in this world.
I also disagree with Mr. Reeves' view that the idea of one religion hinders the development of world peace. Even if adopted, acceptance of all religions, which is actually idolatry and polytheism, will never bring world peace. Only Jesus Christ the "Prince of Peace" will do that when the world finally recognizes that He is the One True God and Savior of all the world. Some amalgamation of all sorts of religious beliefs is not what the world needs; it needs to come to the knowledge that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, and that no one comes to God except through Him.
But to those who do come to Him, there is abundant grace, love and eternal hope!Wenn Sie an christian louboutin schuhe interessiert sind, bitte besuchen unsere Website:timberland schuhe
