The Torrey Pines State Reserve is a must see stop in SD for any nature enthusiast. The park, which is home to the rare Torrey pine tree and a variety of desert wildlife, makes for a pleasant hike and rewards you with some of the most stunning view of the Pacific Coast you'll ever see.

You have young kids so that probably means you visit lots of playgrounds! A great place for San Diego playgrounds is Mission Bay Park. Centrally located and super close to Sea World, Mission Bay offers really great play areas with beautiful views. Try the playground at Tecolote Shores North just south of the Hilton Hotel in East Mission Bay.
