How to get a balloon off of the ceiling- by Balloon Utopia
Has it ever happened that you were using helium balloons for an event and one of the balloons escaped to the ceiling? It doesn't sound like that big of a deal, it will come down eventually, right? True, if it's an 11" balloon, it will come down in around 24 hours or so. If it's a mylar balloon, it might be a couple of weeks, or even months.
Some venues will charge you $100 or more for every lost balloon! So, what's a person to do? Bring a really long pole with a pair of scissors awkwardly taped to it? Try dangerous methods like bibi guns or something like that?
The answer is much simpler- go fishing! It's really quite simple, take another helium balloon, inflated a little larger than the one you lost, and put a loop of duck tape on the top of the balloon. Have the balloon tied to a really long ribbon, or better yet, keep the ribbon attached to the spool so you can lengthen and shorten as needed.
Let the balloon go up to the ceiling and gently tap the wayward balloon. The balloon should stick to the duck tape. Once you've made the connection, gently reel it back in. It's that easy.
