Weekend is the time when we do activities to lose the stress accumulated during the week

. Therefore, most people plan to do some exciting activities on the weekend. Some people prefer to stay home; but many dont because they want to try and experience new things every weekend. They get to meet their friends and loved ones during the weekend and enjoy being together. However, they cannot always do what they plan because of various reasons. There could be many reasons which make us stay at home on the weekend. There is no point in brooding over the cause, because the weekend is the time to relax ourselves and there are some great ways in which we can relax even when we are at home. There wont be any change in the fun even if you are alone at home.

There are things to do both outside home and inside home to help you relax.

Having Fun Indoors

TV:

The TV is the most popular source of indoor fun. Most people like to watch TV and it could keep you entertained for a whole day without you feeling bored even for a moment. There are various genres of TV programs being aired such as comedy shows, talk shows, reality shows, game shows, and others, to keep you entertained. Just check the listings and watch a program that interests you.

Internet:

Another thing which can be of great help to keep yourself entertained is the internet. There are various things that you can do on the internet. You can engage in social networking, chat with your friends online, send email to friends who you havent contacted for quite some time, watch movies, listen to music, read books, and do many more things online. The internet is a sea of information from which you can draw out as much information as you need on topics of your interest.

Phone:

You can call your friends who are away and talk with them on the phone. Just make a list of all the friends who you havent talked to for a long time and call them one by one and talk to them to have good fun. You can know about them and also update them about what is going on in your life. They will be excited to talk to you and you wont feel lonely, too.

Outdoor Fun

These are ways to have fun outdoors but not away from your home.

Gardening:

Gardening is the best way to have fun outdoors. It will help you get some physical exercise and relax more. You will feel refreshed after a couple of hours of gardening. You can also feel happy when you find your plants at bloom. If you give enough time and effort, gardening will turn out to be your most favorite hobby.

Star watching:

Star watching is a very exciting thing that you can do on weekends. You may not be able to spare enough time on week days for this activity, but weekends could be the right time for this activity as you wont have much to take care of. Watching the stars at night will help you relax and you will have a clear mind after star watching.

Reading Books:

Another activity you can do outdoors is reading books. Grab your favorite book and settle down at a comfortable place in your patio with a big bowl of popcorn or your favorite snack. This could be more satisfying than other activities because you can enjoy reading, relax yourself, and also learn from the book. It is also great to read a book lying down in a hammock.
