A lot of work can go in to choosing the right kind of swim trunks

. There nothing worse than picking up a pair only to get home and have them hideous on you. Here are some helpful thing you can do to ensure you choose the right ones.

First step is to know what size you are in the waist and stick to shopping for that size. We all like to think we are one size smaller, but in reality we know were not. Sticking and being comfortable with your actual size will save you some grief. Of course you can always buy trunks with an adjustable waist.

Having the right fitting shorts is crucial to how you look in them. If your larger framed and you go with some smaller shorts, then you will look like your lying to yourself. On the other hand if your of smaller frame and have some shorts on that are too big, you will look a bit weak.

In my opinion, if your on the heavy side you may want to stick to colors that will not be to overpowering. If your fit than I believe you can venture out and go crazy on the wild patterns. This is just my opinion of course, but I strongly feel that wild patterns don't do heavier people any justice.

It's totally up to you in the end on the color of shorts, but if you decide to take my advice, be sure to stick to colors like green, dark brown, dark red or even black. Wearing bright pink is something only the most confidence of people should try...trust me I'm not one of them!

Now if your buying some swim gear for the kids, then by all means by the biggest and brightest shorts you can. This will help when trying to locate them when you scan the water.

The best possible time to buy and find the best deals on swim trunks is during the winter or at the end of summer. Let's face it in these trying times finding the best deal you can and making your dollar stretch will put some extra cash in your pocket.

Obviously the main reason why these two time in the year are the best times to purchase swim gear is because the demand for swim gear drops off. When the demand goes, so does the price and that's where you can really capitalize and find some smoking deals.
